This cheery book follows iii children as they savour the simple pleasures and rare glimpses that nature offers united states of america around the lake. A Day at the Lake is told using all five senses, and teaches children vowels and audio effects.

My thoughts: From the forepart comprehend, on each page, and ending with the dorsum cover this cheerful, bright, engaging books is delightful. I tin can almost feel the children's joy and excitement in the pictures detailing their fun and activities and discoveries when they spend A Day At The Lake.

It is a shame that this book is not printed in a hardcover version then that it will ameliorate endure the repeated reading, folio turning, hugging (aye books are hugged by our piffling ones) that it will surely be experiencing. But since it is non, nosotros'll but relish it anyway!

On the two-folio spreads, there is a short two liner that says what that page/picture is virtually. And then information technology is followed by some "way out" words that will tickle your tongue, your centre, and brand your kiddies giggle.

Hear the soft waves hit the boat like a drum.
Lappity rap, Sloshily slap

In the motion picture for this page, the iii children (so young, then innocent, and then pure) and their doggie are peering over the border of the boat every bit the little waves "Sloshily slap."

If y'all and your little ones go to the lake or beach, y'all'll desire to scout for this book or mayhap order information technology online. It will be a joy.

I was not at all a fan of the text. although it looked quick and poetic, I found the onomatopoeia to exist difficult to read aloud and some of the phrases awkward rather than delightful. The pictures seemed okay, or peradventure even better but after my daughter lost interest and I found that I wasn't into the text I didn't pay much attention to them. The cover has an inviting composition and I like the thought of the subject field (information technology really reminds me quite a bit of Cynthia Lord's Half a Take a chance with the loons) I was not at all a fan of the text. although it looked quick and poetic, I establish the onomatopoeia to be hard to read aloud and some of the phrases bad-mannered rather than delightful. This is a beautifully designed, engaging children's book that captures 3 children's days at the lake. The kids go swimming, find new creatures, everything you lot can think of to do at the lake! This book incorporates cute illustrations that make you want to exist there. Lively illustrations and poetic language that is lots of fun to say fill the pages of this book as three children and their dog caput to the lake. The pages pay tribute to the fun that can be had in the peachy outdoors while also allowing readers to see ducks, loons, a bald eagle, and a dragonfly up close in all their glory. This one is a fun read-aloud.
